Born in 2003, Deniz Cengiz is a passionate recitalist and chamber musicians developing in her generation. Having begun her education at the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts State Conservatoire in Istanbul, she was offered a full scholarship spot at the prestigious Purcell School of Music aged 14. While at the Purcell School, she studied under the tutelage of widely respected professors Tessa Nicholson, William Fong and Aaron Shorr.Amongst many of Deniz’s highlight performances have included concertos performances with orchestras like: Trakya Chamber Orchestra, Fortismere Community Orchestra and Bushey Festival Orchestra to name a few. Her international career has gained recognition as a laureate at several international competitions all over Europe including 2nd prize in the International Piano Competition in Milan-Piano Talents, 2nd prize at the International Bursa Nilüfer Piano Competition and 3rd prize in the Paris International Piano Competition.

Most recent career highlights have included Cengiz’s debut at the Wigmore Hall, Duke’s Hall and the Austrian Consulate of Turkey and will follow with more solo and chamber music engagements across the U.K, Turkey and Germany. Deniz has engaged in masterclasses internationally with Philippe Raskin, Vincenzo Balzani, Zuzana Niederdorfer, Jonathan Plowright, Roy Howat, Martin Helmchen, Roman Simovic and Boris Kusnesow.

This season Deniz embarks on more duo recitals with violinist Ezo Sarici with a tour of Turkey in December 2024 with concerts taking place in Istanbul, Ankara and Bursa; alongside a tour of the U.K in March 2025 performing in London, Wales and Scotland.

Deniz continues to further her studies with professor Markus Tomas and professor Boris Kusnezow at the highly esteemed Hochschule für Musik und Theater “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” in Leipzig.
